OUR NEW WEBSITE
Our old site was over 2 years old and starting to show it's age. We felt it was time to dedicate some time to update our own online presence. For some time we've been wanting to offer a more dynamic web site. We needed a solution that would allow us to present the latest news from Shore Fx and technical articles we feel will be useful to our customers.
Like many of our customer sites, our original site was a static site and as a result it was hard to update as frequently as we would have liked. It required an html editor and an FTP tool to update the page files.
Our new site is powered by Shore Fx CMS. This system provides an easy to use, web based administration interface. Using this interface, we can add pages, change content and create news articles. In other words; change any aspect of our site from content to style quickly and easily from any web accessible PC.
If you have a static web site and feel limited by having to contact a web designer for every change, consider the transition to Shore Fx CMS. The initial cost of a CMS based site is generally higher than a static site due to the higher up-front effort involved in setup. The load on the hosting server is also generally greater, meaning the monthly hosting fee is slightly higher. However the on-going maintenance cost is significantly reduced. The revenue benefit to your business by having a site that is always up-to-date typically more than pays for the cost difference.
If you're not ready for the jump to a full CMS based site, we offer a migration path that is a lower cost, hybrid option. Your most frequently updated pages (perhaps a product gallery) can be placed under CMS control and other pages on your site can remain static. You can decide, over time, to migrate specific pages or groups of pages to be under Shore Fx CMS control.
